About the Author

Don Goldstein is a career advisor whose own career has spanned sixty years and fifty jobs. He has worked in blue-collar jobs and white-collar jobs; union jobs and non-union jobs. He has experienced not-for-profits and corporate America. He has toiled in warehouses, agriculture, manufacturing, retail, customer service, the military, community work, social science research, editing, teaching, and career counseling in three countries and all five boroughs of New York City. As a freelancer, Don sometimes juggled as many as six jobs at the same time. As a career counselor for the past fifteen years, Don has advised thousands of clients and students, and helped them to explore and decide which careers and job search strategies are most suited to their own individual needs, values, and talents.
Don currently works as a part-time career advisor at the City University of New York (CUNY) Graduate Center and is closing in on retirement. He is a proud alum of Brooklyn College and holds an M.A. degree from York University in Toronto. He is married and has three adult children and four grandchildren. He still lives in Brooklyn, where he was born and raised.
